Each year Old South Church welcomes hundreds of performers from around the world to join in Sunday morning 11 am Festival Worship. Choirs wishing to take part in our Visiting Choir Ministry must reserve a date and time at least two months in advance. You may do so by reading the provided information and filling out the form below, as well as sending a non-returnable CD recording, photo, and bio of the choir to the following:
Harry L. Huff, Minister of Music
Old South Church
645 Boylston Street
Boston, MA 02116
Opportunities to sing may include up to a 15-minute prelude and/or at various times during the service, depending on the participation of the Old South Choir or Old South Ringers on that day. Use of the Sanctuary’s 9-foot Steinway concert grand piano and/or the 115-rank E.M. Skinner organ are optional.
Advance rehearsal time in the Sanctuary may be possible on the Friday or Saturday prior to the scheduled service, but is not guaranteed. Arrangements may be made as to available rehearsal time on the morning of the service. If changing rooms are required before or after the service, they must be reserved well in advance.
Please note that Old South Church warmly welcomes all spiritual and secular traditions, and while we do not require a program entirely made up of sacred music, we ask that your repertoire be respectful of the sacred space in which you are performing, and we reserve the right to make changes accordingly. Visiting choirs are often requested to act as worship leaders, helping to lead congregational singing and spoken responses, along with the Old South Choir. Choirs are asked to treat our facilities with proper care and etiquette, and appropriate dress and deportment are expected at all times.
While Old South Church is under no obligation to advertise, we may list your performance on our website and provide publicity at the church entrance on Boylston Street.
