Jim McDonnel

A member of Old South for nearly three decades, Jim currently serves as one of the church’s evening and weekend receptionists.  Originally from Kansas, Jim earned his B.A. from George Fox College and his Master of Music Education from Wichita State University.  He taught music at the junior and senior high school levels, and was also the music director and youth director of a large Methodist church in Kansas.  At Old South, Jim has served as a Deacon and in a number of hospitality roles.  He has captained Old South’s team for AIDS Walk Boston for more than 20 years, and is a long-time member of the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus.  Jim has a love for music and reading, and bakes some of the best cakes this side of heaven.  Jim considers Old South his Boston family, and feels tremendously blessed to be here.
