'Ejector' now ranks as 'most popular commercial' on popular 'ifilm'

The United Church of Christ's new "ejector" TV ad is now ranked as the
most-popular commercial at ifilm.com, a well-known online hosting site for
videos. More than 12,029 peopl
have watched "ejector" during the past week . . .

Rejected by the major networks and several cable stations for being
"advocacy" and "political" ? claims that UCC leaders have refuted ? the
UCC's ad began a three-week run on April 3 on multiple cable networks,
including CNN, A&E, BET, Lifetime, E!, TBS, TNT, History and Hallmark,
among others.

We'll keep you posted -- be sure to follow closely our email over the next =

Hello everyone,

The United Church of Christ just launched a new ad campaign entitled
"Ejector Pew" (as announced by the NY Times, Chicago Tribune, San
Francisco Chronicle and so many other media outlets and blogs this week). It
will begin to air on TV on Monday, April 3.

Please check out the commercial and find out what it's all about on a new
site we have created for people to see the ad and share their stories of
how they have felt alienated by organized religion:

The major TV networks have deemed the spot too controversial and will not
air it.  So I need your help.  Please go to the site above and pass it along to
your friends and family. You can also cut and paste this message and email
it to your email list.

You will be an important part of an online word of mouth campaign that we
have developed?all in an effort to spread the word about the UCC and God's
welcome to everyone, no matter who they are or where they are on life's
journey.

Do not let an alternative to the religious right's message be silenced in
this country. Those who seek to diminish us will not diminish us. The gospel has
spread in the face of opposition since the first century ? friend to friend.
This time we will spread it electronically as well.
