Campaign for Our Future

The Campaign Steering Committee is thrilled to announce that to-date 163 households have made commitments totaling $4,018,283. But there is plenty of room for growth, and we need as many of our households as possible to be part of this legacy. Church members who haven’t had a chance to learn or participate in the campaign will be receiving packets and phone calls in the next couple of weeks. We want to make sure that everyone has the chance to join in this faith-filled effort to insure the future of Old South Church’s growing ministries.

If we haven’t contacted you and you want to make sure we reach you, notify Helen McCrady at [email protected] or (617) 536-1970.

We Have Been Blessed by Those Who Have Come before Us

Over our 350 year history, Old South Church has shined as a beacon of God’s love to the City of Boston and beyond. Our community has been enormously blessed by the generations preceding us. Approaching our 350th anniversary in 2019 we are aware that it is our turn to leave a legacy on the history of Old South Church.

Now It's Our Turn

After two years of research, conversation, feedback and prayer, we are thrilled to announce Our Faith, Our Time, Our Future – The Campaign for Old South Church. The goal of this $5.383 million is to insure the future of Old South’s growing ministries as we seek to fulfill the call to Do Justice, Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly with God. We invite you to join us as we seek to follow God’s call and continue to engage ever more boldly in the Christian work of justice, mercy, and love.

Ministry for Today and Tomorrow

Approved by Church Council in December 2015, the Campaign will raise funds to endow:

  • The Micah Mission Fund will underwrite justice campaigns and projects.

  • Open Door Productions will enable Old South Church to spread the news of progressive Christianity through live streaming, social media, and our website.

  • The Teaching Church will teach our members to be ambassadors of Christ through experiential inter-generational, inter-racial, interfaith, and cross-cultural programming.

And will make possible:

  • Building improvements to increase the church’s accessibility and functionality are also planned.
