It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.
- Samuel Adams, Old South Church member
Upcoming opportunities for protest, training, and action in the Boston area coordinated by friend organizations of Old South Church, the church of the Boston Tea Party.
Housing costs in Boston are among the highest in the country, and home ownership is out of reach for too many Bostonians. Along with the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization, Old South has a chance to shape city policy on programs to assist people in becoming first time home owners. But we can't do that without input and help from you. If you are someone who is interested in buying a home, has recently bought your first home, or would like to own a home and can't afford it, please consider being part of this effort. Contact John Edgerton to get involved at [email protected]
Old South continues to be a supporting congregation in the Sanctuary Church movement. We are partnered with Bethel AME, along with an interfaith coalition of religious communities, providing shelter and support to an undocumented person under threat of deportation. Volunteer opportunities are ongoing, at all levels of commitment. Contact Alliea Groupp to learn about getting involved at [email protected]
