Jesus’ vision for the church is one in which all are invited and made to feel welcome. To that end, Old South is engaged in ongoing efforts to make our building and community accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
Old South Church is fully wheelchair accessible at our front entrance, with interior elevators, space for wheelchairs in the Sanctuary and Chapel, and wheelchair accessible restrooms. Accessible parking spaces are available on Boylston Street (between Dartmouth and Exeter Streets) across from the church. The Copley T Station, beside our church, is fully wheelchair accessible.
Old South has two meter-free “Drop-off/Pick-Up” spaces on Boylston Street directly in front of the church. These spots are offered for the safety and convenience of families with very young children, seniors, and persons with disabilities, and for weddings and funerals.
The Sanctuary is equipped with a hearing loop system. If you have a hearing aid, the loop works directly for those whose hearing aids have a t-coil. If you do not own a hearing aid, ask for one of our devices that is paired with the loop. Please note that the sound will be best if you sit further inside the pews, away from the aisles. The loop does not work in the upper galleries. If your hearing aid is not receiving the signal from the loop you may need to consult your audiologist to have it adjusted.
Hearing assistance devices are available for the Sanctuary and the Gordon Chapel.
