Rev. Ashley Popperson Voted in as Settled Associate Minister

During the 354th Annual Meeting of Old South Church in Boston, the congregation voted unanimously to call Rev. Ashley Popperson as a Settled Associate Minister.

"applause from the member4s"Bringing the agenda item to the floor, Operations Chair Lisa Loveland explained that Ashley's original contract was for a designated term of two years. Ashley has expertly served Old South for 15 months now, and the HR Committee recognized that members of the congregation were asking for her to stay. Ashley has provided stability to the church during a time of great transition, and is well-loved by members, staff, and the broader community.

Rev. Don Wells, Theologian in Residence at Old South Church, contributed to the discussion, saying that Ashley is a superb pastor with a great listening ear and theological acumen, a wonderful colleague, and a good friend to talk with over coffee. His enthusiastic endorsement was received with applause and agreement throughout the membership.

Immediately following the affirmative vote, Ashley walked into the room to much celebration and gave a short speech of thanksgiving.
