Welcome to this Sanctuary in the City, open and free to the public seven days a week. Welcome to this house and home of God.
Come in. Come away from the world for a while, and rest here in the grace of God, that you may be better fitted out for changing the world. Wander the aisles. Settle in a pew. Study the windows. Discover the memorials to Samuel Adams, Samuel Sewall, and Edward Whittier. Find the carved animals (owl, lizard, rabbit, and more). Write a prayer - of thanksgiving or intercession - and leave it in our Prayer Box.
Located in the heart of Boston, our building is a platform and springboard for our many ministries, a gathering and learning place, but also a Sanctuary in the City: home to ministries to the unhoused, 12-step programs, social service organizations, community groups, musical ensembles, schools and more.
It is in this space that a vibrant, engaged, intergenerational congregation gathers to worship God, to pray prayers, to make music, to break open the Word, to practice forgiveness, to undertake mercy, and to be formed for service and love.
