Justin Tyler Dickerson, a native of Elizabeth, New Jersey, integrates theological scholarship, social justice advocacy, and creative ministry into his vocation. His spiritual formation began in the Pentecostal tradition and expanded through ministerial experiences at Central United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, cultivating an ecumenical commitment to liberation theologies with particular focus on queer and marginalized communities.
As an emerging scholar-practitioner, Justin earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Clark Atlanta University and his Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Sacred Theology at Boston University, where his research explores the intersections of gender, sexuality, and race through both academic and pastoral frameworks. His dedication to service includes two transformative years with AmeriCorps, where he partnered with Habitat for Humanity International and Hands On Atlanta to support youth in Atlanta Public Schools.
Justin channels his theological vision through multiple platforms: as a reflective writer publishing "I Feel Like Writing" on Substack, as a developing theologian advancing justice-oriented scholarship, and as a vocal artist expressing faith through sacred music. Beyond academic pursuits, he engages cultural mediums including documentaries, musical theater, and fashion as vibrant spaces for theological inquiry and spiritual practice.
