Rev. James M. Harrison Jr. is an experienced and passionate wedding officiant known for creating meaningful, personalized ceremonies that reflect each couple’s unique story. In 2021, he founded his own wedding officiant service and has since officiated weddings across the United States and internationally. His work has also been featured on the nationally syndicated television show Married at First Sight.
Justin Tyler Dickerson, a native of Elizabeth, New Jersey, integrates theological scholarship, social justice advocacy, and creative ministry into his vocation.
Kat Woodard comes to Old South by way of Harvard Divinity School (HDS), where she completed her Masters of Divinity degree in May of 2025.
Rev. John Edgerton is well-known to Old South Church in Boston, having served as our Associate Minister from 2012-2019. Since then, John went on to serve as the Senior Minister for First United Church of Oak Park, Illinois. John is a graduate of St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and of the University of Chicago Divinity School.
Rachel grew up in Wayland, MA before moving to Toronto to pursue her undergraduate and first master’s degree at the University of Toronto.
Ashley serves as the Associate Minister at Old South. Ashley has a deep love for the city of Boston, a heart for pastoral care, and a passion for liturgy. She believes that worship can tune our hearts to God’s song of justice, so that we might continue our praise through acts of service and working for a just peace.
Andrew serves as the Bible Study Instructor for the Thursday night Through the Bible series here at Old South Church in Boston. He has a heart for Bible studies in church communities, as well as helping Christians work through the complexities in Biblical literature and theological studies.
David was born and grew up in rural Georgia. He was the fourth child of five in a family for whom the church was the center of life. He received a BA from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia and a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. He served as pastor to two churches in Georgia and North Carolina before doing Hospital Chaplain work in Atlanta before retiring . He moved to New England ten years ago to work in Consumer Financial Services.
James W. Crawford began his ministry at Old South Church in the spring of 1974. Upon his retirement in 2002, the congregation voted unanimously to grant him the honorary title Senior Minister Emeritus. He continues to compose sermons for an annual preacher’s liturgical resource, The Minister’s Manual, and to preach on occasion at Old South. Jim and his wife, Linda Lovett Crawford, have four children and fifteen grandchildren. They are avid travelers and devoted members of Red Sox Nation, and reside in Lincoln, MA.
Don has been Old South’s Theologian-in-Residence since September 2008, teaching classes in Christian spirituality and theology. Don is a Pastoral Theologian whose life and ministry have been immersed in the church, both local and ecumenical. His experience and academic background provide an important perspective on the intersection of faith and contemporary life. Don’s series of "On the Road" articles, which have appeared in various Old South Church publications, explore familiar biblical themes through new lenses.
